Urban Lifeline is the world’s first English-language academic journal dedicated to urban lifeline engineering, offering comprehensive coverage of diverse urban lifeline scenarios while deeply integrating smart information technologies. Leveraging the interdisciplinary strengths of the School of Civil Engineering, Southeast University, and the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Smart Construction and Operation & Maintenance, the journal focuses on new methods, technologies, and research outcomes related to urban infrastructure—including buildings, water supply and drainage, energy, transportation, communications, bridges, and underground utility tunnels—in areas such as planning and design, risk prevention and control, and emergency response and rescue. It is committed to building a high-level academic exchange platform, promoting the translating research into practice, and enhancing China’s international influence and research capability in this field.

Previously, the journal was selected for the High-Starting-Point New Journal Program under the China Excellent Science and Technology Journals Action Plan, and has been indexed by internationally recognized databases including DOAJ and Scopus. The approval of the CN number is not only a key milestone in the journal’s development, but also marks a new chapter for strengthening its domestic presence and advancing international academic exchange and collaboration.
