In the afternoon of March 24, the whole faculty meeting for the spring semester of 2020-2021 academic year was held in the classroom of Teaching 6-103. More than 160 faculty members attended the meeting, which was presided over by Secretary Liu Jing of the Party Committee of the College.

In accordance with the usual practice, CPC chair Liu Jing firstly introduced 13 teachers including Shan Zhiwei, Lu Hongfang, Cai Jingming, Ding Xiaomeng, Huang Zirui, Lin Yuanzheng, Dai Jun, Xu Gang, Wu Liheng, Feng Dongming, Zhang Youhu, Liu Bo and Hu Pu Yu, who are new to the College in 2021, and expressed warm welcome to all of them to join the Southeast Civil Engineering family; Vice President Li Xia (presiding over the work) presented the teachers who are new to the College with the Teacher Ethics Vice President Li Xia (presided over the work) issued a letter of commitment and a new induction packet to all new teachers. Secretary Liu Jing again emphasized the importance of teacher moral and teacher style construction to all teachers, she said that the School of Civil Engineering has excellent teaching traditions, and she hoped that all teachers would abide by the code of teacher moral and adhere to the good traditions, so as to jointly help the new journey of double first-class construction.

Introducing new faculty members
Vice President Li Xia then gave a report on the work of the college, summarizing the overall work of the college in 2020 and putting forward the general work ideas of the college in the near future. President Li said that in 2020, the college mainly worked on several aspects, such as strengthening institutional security, improving faculty strength, cultivating innovative talents and building first-class disciplines, and smoothly realized the smooth transition of various administrative work, and the party and government worked together to better complete key tasks such as prevention and control of the new crown epidemic, summary of the construction of first-class disciplines, preparation of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the fifth round of discipline evaluation. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the college will focus on promoting four key tasks: cross-cutting interdisciplinary construction to promote intelligent transformation of civil engineering; innovative integration of government, industry, academia and research to support the characteristic construction of Dongda; collaborative construction of large platforms to promote high-quality development of teaching and research; and connotative international development. In the near future, the college will further improve various organizational structures, give full play to the important role of committees in the work of the college; give full play to the functions of the organs to provide a solid foundation for the development of the college; continue to focus on student training, strengthen the construction of the faculty, strengthen the platform and team building, and continue to promote the academician project. In the next step, the college will accelerate the construction of the new major of intelligent construction; start the adjustment of office space of the college; fully support the construction of Liyang base; and at the same time make preparations for the celebration of the 100-year civil engineering discipline. In terms of undergraduate training, we will insist on student development as the center, strengthen education guidance, and at the same time focus on the condensation of teaching achievements, so as to lay a good foundation for declaring provincial, ministerial or national projects or awards.
